Dr. Javaria Zahra is a CDA-licensed psychologist, Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician (BICBT-CC), and Gold Medalist with more than 17 years of experience in clinical and counselling psychology, psychological assessment, training, and academia. She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, providing evidence-based psychological care tailored to each client’s individual needs, strengths, circumstances, and therapeutic goals.
Her clinical practice includes support for anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, trauma, grief, adjustment difficulties, anger management, low self-esteem, and relationship and marital concerns.
Dr. Javaria has extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioral and developmental concerns, social skills difficulties, and school adjustment challenges. Her work includes psychological and psychoeducational assessments, individualized intervention planning, parent counselling and psychoeducation, and collaboration with families, schools, and other professionals.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, integrative, and evidence-informed. She draws upon Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Behavior Therapy, psychoeducation, and social skills training. She adapts interventions to each client’s developmental needs, cultural background, and therapeutic goals.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Javaria has extensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) experience. She provides short-term, solution-focused counseling, workplace mental health training, critical incident support, and trauma debriefing.
Her academic and research experience includes developing a Learning Disabilities Scale (LDS), conducting subsequent published research, and teaching psychology and research methods.
