Dr. Vinita has 14 years of experience in neurodevelopmental paediatrics and is trained as behaviourist. She has worked in UK, USA and UAE and trained in top institutes such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, John Radcliff Hospital Oxford, Ann Arbor Michigan and Children Hospital of Philadelphia in USA. She has worked with diverse ethnicity and is sensitive towards unique cultural practices. She aims for mainly conservative and evidence based approach.

  • Assessment and diagnosis of children with social communication and interaction abnormalities (autism, autistic spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome) by ADOS (autism diagnostic observation schedule) and 3-di (developmental, dimensional and diagnostic interview)
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder(ADD)
  • IQ testing in above 5 yrs only as a part of comprehensive assessment.
  • Specific learning difficulties Dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, learning difficulties and genetic abnormalities Down syndrome, Turner syndrome.
  • Behavioural disorder ( ODD, conduct problems, anxiety disorders, challenging behaviour such as self -injurious behaviour, Tourette’s syndrome, tics.
  • Regulatory disorders sleeping, feeding, and enuresis, encopresis.
  • Developmental Assessment for children with developmental delay (extreme prematurity, sensorineural hearing loss, visual impairment, delayed speech and language by using Griffith mental developmental scale and Bayley-III scales).
  • Expertise in Applied Behaviour Analysis which includes functional assessment of challenging behaviour, VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program), ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills) and advising BIP ( behavior intervention plan), parent training based on positive behaviour support(PBS)
  • Interventions based on PECS (picture exchange communication system), TEACCH approach( Training and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped Children), SPELL (structure, positive approach, empathy, low arousal, links), DIR- floortime ( Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based), Hanen approach. School observation and Individual educational needs (IEP) for school/nursery placement.
